This is a sermon inspired by Family Guy's Stewie Griffin, Matthew 22:15-22, and a conversation that I had here at Wondercafe a while ago about whether or not the UCC still has a viable centre. That conversation was an important one I thought. Maybe this will spark interest in continuing it.

This is a sermon on love & narcissism. It is a traditional theme that I find is often missed in more contemporary, New Age versions of the Christian message. This particular sermon is based on Jonah 3:10-4:11 and Matthew 20:1-16. Hopefully it will spark discussion.

In today's newspaper here in London, the headline reads "When the faithful move on, a church closes." As it turns out, the headline has little to do with the content of the article, which rambles on with the usual themes about congregations closing in an increasingly secular world where fewer people going to non-fundamentalist churches. But it was the headline that really caught my attention...
