Our Mission Statement
St. Andrew’s United Church seeks to become an inviting, open and accepting community where young people of all ages can explore and celebrate their spirituality.
Known as the “Red Roof Church”, once you arrive in Rossland, unless it’s a foggy day, you can see St. Andrew’s United Church from most places in town.
We are one of four points within Communities in Faith Pastoral Charge and our main church office is located a few kilometres away within Trail United Church in Trail, BC. All regular mail should be addressed to that office.
Worship Times: Sundays at 9:00 a.m.
Choir Practice: Fridays at 9:00 a.m.
We also offer Taizé worship services on an irregular basis -- please call or email for more information.
Our city slogan is “High Altitude, Great Attitude” and we have 3,278 full time residents. Residents are primarily employed at the Teck Resources smelter and the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Trail, a 15 minute drive down the mountain. Our numbers increase in the winter when the skiers arrive. As well, we are the base camp of Red Mountain, a small steep ski hill with an excellent reputation for diverse terrain.
The community is trying to diversify itself into a four season tourism hub. Adding to the outdoor activities, Rossland is a hub for local artists and coffee drinkers with its own art gallery, Rouge, and five unique coffee shops.
