Hi, all -
Are you ministry personnel in The United Church of Canada, or an active participant in a United Church of Canada congregation?
Have you put together a resource for your congregation? (A resource can be just about anything: a workshop, a worship service, a faith exploration programme, a devotional, etc. etc. etc.)
Would you be willing to share that resource in such a way that other congregations could find it, read it, and use it (perhaps making changes to it for their context), to help them in their ongoing ministry?
If you've answered 'yes' to these questions, then I've got a request for you!
I'm designing a website to be a 'clearinghouse' for individually or congregationally developed resources in The United Church of Canada. The structure of the site is nearly completed (though I am still having fun getting the 'tag cloud' to work!) - but it's like a library without any books on the shelves. (Except for my stuff... but a library with only one author is pretty bland.)
If you're UCCan and you've got stuff you'd be willing to share, let me know, and we'll get you access so you can post it. (Check your hard drives, your floppy drives, your filing cabinets - I'm certain there is some great work that's been done!)

Can we link your site to our sites, Richard? We LOVE sharing resources developed locally!
One example is coming up (as it's edited for presentation on the u-c site) is some animation and evalutation tools related to the Standards of Practice and Ethical Standards for ministry personnel. We have 2 great contributions from Manitou Conference and ...Montreal and Ottawa Conf. I believe.

By all means, Martha.
Part of the reason I decided to put this together is that we've got great resources all over the place - stewardship in one area, worship in another area, etc.
I'm hoping that we'll be able to pull stuff into one, easily searchable, space.

Sounds like an awesome project Richard! I will see if I have something to contribute.

Thanks, carolla!
When you find stuff, head over to ucc-resources.ca and sign up for an account. You'll get access quickly, and be able to post your resources right away. (And then you can let me know how 'cludgy' the process is, and I can figure out what changes I need to make! *grin*)

We're up to 10 resources posted.
But it's all stuff written by me or with me as one of the authors. I *really* don't want this to be a one-person-show. *grin*
Check your files, check your offices, check your basements, check your brains - pass on the stuff that was useful in your UCCan congregational settings. Someone else will find it helpful!

Well, ucc-resources.ca has had it's first three 'non-Richard' sign-ups. I'm sure they're combing their file-folders, looking for the items they'd like to post.
How about you?

And now we've had our first "non-Richard" resource posted - one entitled "Alive and Well".
You might want to check it out. (Then sign up, and post your stuff, too!)
Next report at 20 posted resources ;).

Hi, CH -
If you'd like to look at, or download, the resources in the library there is no need to sign up for a user account.
If you want to post resources, you'll need to sign up for an account.
(Note: ucc-resources.ca is not affiliated with Emerging Spirit or WonderCafe, and is not an official project of The United Church of Canada, though it has the moral support of the congregation with whom I serve - St. Andrew's Haney United Church.)

Will send (once you approve my account!) a successful letter we used for our "roll revision" process two years ago. It not only was very helpful in revising our roll, it raised $1500!

That's great, DKS - exactly the kind of response I'm hoping for!
I'm looking forward to reading it.

Posted, but I'm not happy you won't accept .wpd formated files.

*LOL*
I've added .wpd to the 'accept' list. If there are others that would be helpful, let me know.
(I saw all the openoffice formats, and didn't look farther - sorry!)

Given that Corel's product still has a good hold on the church market bacuse of its superior qualities, thank you.
