Any folks have their payroll bounce this month? August is the most likely time for it to happen, as summer givings are down. I saw a tweet from a colleague who was paid by cheque because there wasn't enough for the payroll to run. My payroll was fine. Anyone have problems?

I know a person whose payroll cheque bounced, but she works at a restaurant.

My paycheck rolled in as usual. Life is good in the donut game.

Isn't that sort of thing (the bounding part) what the centralized UCC payroll system is supposed to avoid? Are all churches not yet on it? Or perhaps this isn't a UCC person. OTOH, I suppose not all paid church positions go through that system - eg small part time or contract positions - but since you said colleague DKS, I'm assuming you meant minstry person.

Just more than 90% are on ADP in the United Church. It is supposed to deal with charge inability to meet payroll. Don't know what happened here.

If the person was paid by check because there 'wasn't enough for payroll to run' they're on a system that I'm not familiar with. It may be their treasurer is really paying attention: a good thing!
That being said, from time to time--rarely, though-- there is a situation where a person is not paid (by the payroll service). If it does happen, please contact your Treasurer immediately. If that's not possible or fruitful, please call the GCO: 1-800-268-3781, x 3161
