Green Shield coverage via United Church plans: ALERT!

A technical glitch has caused some members of the United Church's health and dental plans to drop off the coverage list for Green Shield.

Green Shield is aware of the problem, as well as Ministry and Employment unit: thanks to the members who called us right away to alert us to this error.

Until the fix is applied to the whole file, the work around is to hold on to invoices and receipts to recieve your reimbursement once the trouble is fixed.  This will require you to send your documents to Green Sheild (the old fashioned way!) and they will be able to provide the usual reimbursement. Ministry and Employment doesn't anticipate a long wait for a fix.

If, as some do during this time of year, you are not able to make a larger purchase before a long trip, or if any purchase will put you in a position of hardship: Please call Ministry and Employment immediately at 1-800-268-3781, ext 3161.

The Ministry and Employment unit is working with Green Shield to correct the file for clients facing hardship immediatly; the scope of the problem is not small enough to do this for every client file affected.
