The first thing I would like to share is the surprising way of God revealed in the Abraham and Sarah narratives. There is no limit to the new beginnings that are possible where faith overcomes doubt to express bold new commitments and decisions.
Following from this, I would encourage a remembrance of our deep roots in the traditions of non-conformity and dissent. These roots produced the early growth and fruitfulness of the United Church.
Can we ask, looking forward, how we may turn away from our conformity to the norms and standards of the market economy by which we have been diminished in both vision and action?
