A few words of appreciation. I sat in on a two part Webinar on the New Ministry Fund. Earlier I had sat in on the Racism Webinar.

That first experience helped me learn my way into the media. The second provided opportunity to practice effective use of the online space. Something each of the hosts and participants will appreciate.

I am pleased to hear openness to softer boundaries being expressed and encouraged.

From the outset I have felt myself a dreamer in a planner universe. Every advancing step I have taken with the United Church of  Canada has been according to a pattern, a plan. Further, this pattern/plan seems wholly congruent with the pattern/plan of other institutions with which we each and all have to do.

Plans and patterns are not native to my self-understanding.

My way forward has been illuminated more by serendipity, coincidence well observed. Sign and symbol hold more attraction for me than chapter and verse.

Let Those Who Plan Heed Those Who Process. We are the two hands of change when we are truly two acting as one; not when one dominates the action of the other. Let each hand be what it truly is.

My hesitation has to do with the difference between those who do forms well and those who do not.

This leads me to wonder if we may discover some way for funding demonstrated creative leadership where there is no leading by political means?

All to say I have been curious about the quiet space this post presents.
