Obituary Rev. Dr. Albion Wright

Albion Wright was one of our ley leaders over the last 40 years. He was a superb stewardship teacher. His death is a loss to the church

WRIGHT, Rev. Dr. Albion R. - Peacefully on Monday, July 5, 2010 at Ian Anderson House, Oakville in his 82nd year. Albion is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Freda (nee Lawrence), his three children Karen Lander (Rob Tuckerman), Deanna and Darryl (Diana Skeates). Beloved grandfather of Samantha, Drew and Kendal Lander. He will be deeply missed by his sister, Evelyn Bradley. Lovingly remembered by his sisters and brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Gretchen and Bert and son-in-law Cameron Lander. Albion's lifelong bond with the United Church of Canada spanned over fifty years of devoted pastoral and executive ministry. His many friends and colleagues have surrounded him with compassion and prayer. We will all miss his loving constant touch. The family would like to express their appreciation to the nurses at Care Partners, the Palliative Care Unit at Credit Valley Hospital and to everyone at Ian Anderson House for all their compassionate care. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter 'Peel' Chapel 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga (Hwy. 10, N. of QEW) on Monday, July 12, 2010 from 7-9 p.m. A Service of Remembrance will be held at St. Stephen's on-the-Hill United Church, 998 Indian Rd., Mississauga on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 2 p.m. with a reception to follow. Memorial donations made to the Dr. Albion Wright Youth Travelling Fund, St. Stephen's-on-the-Hill United Church would be appreciated.
