HI crazyheart,
Why arent these advertised in the Cafe.?
I suspect that WonderCafe.ca is not seen as an advertising tool. I also suspect that the innovators of this program do not frequent WonderCafe.ca.
How many groups have we missed?
This is the first of its kind that I am aware of.
Or is it just me?
It may just be you.
You aren't going to be ticked because I haven't posted anything here about the Rib Dinner tonight are you?
Grace and peace to you.

I hadn't heard of this either - it may be the thing that finally draws me into facebook.
I did a search and found this video (watch for our own Richard Bott):

Like most organizations, if there is criticism to be made, it is often about communication.

Just to be clear, this is an "ad hoc" initiative, not from the General Council office.

Hi crazyheart,
JOHN. how come no price for seniors? Now I am ticked.
Well I can only go so far every year with the ageism argument. Next year children will be paying full price as well and everyone will be included and equal.
Grace and peace to you.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, Crazyheart. (And for your good intentions Aaron.)
I hope that I can find somebody to get me on facebook and find it for me by then.

If she has time. - Big dance spectacular coming up the last weeks of May, then exams. I'm afraid Grammy is a way down on her list right now. Her spirit would be willing, but her calendar is full.

The reason I did not note this, eventhough I am a special guest, is it is facebook. Also, it reminds me that we are not good at doing pr on other media, for example, there is daily church service on Face book, check Jennifer Palin, and it is dependent on passing the information on through friends on face book. Our event with Jay was on the blog here and on facebook, as public, but response really comes from emails to those who have taken part in the past, and now a few from facebook.
In many ways we see something when we are looking for it, because it may have been there, in front of us, for a long time.

I noticed Rock the Bible from friends on Facebook. Maybe I'll put a notice in our church bulletin-which is really a document e-mailed out to congregation and a few copies printed out for Sunday!

You're a big girl now......:)...you can jump on Facebook all by yourself. You just give your user name, email address, and password......in "Sign Up" on Facebook.
You can read some of the security and message rules up top right hand corner and check yes/no what you wish. I forget exactly ...sorry...see my account, settings etc. up top at the right. It works by email. If someone responds to your message on facebook...... facebook will notify you to go there and read it.
It is a bit complicated at first...lol..and I'm talking...!!!...I detest facebook. I find its a nuisance and the print bothers my eyes. I seldom go near it.

Edit for seeler:
Re facebook : on " profile" give as little or as much information as you wish. You can always change it later, add or subtract your info.
There's a tiny lock - top right hand corner....click it....its privacy settings ....who can see your messages etc. ?
...a tiny wheel next to it is also settings / my account ....and you log out there too.
They keep changing the format very often.
You can also email private messages on your facebook like on wondermail.
Good Luck.....I hope you will enjoy it.

seeler,
Most of my friends my age won't go on Facebook because of the security issues.
I felt the same way, until my niece's husband (a geek) said he would open an account for me.
I'm glad he did - I love it.
My niece's are into baby making - and I now get to see photos of them. Most of them don't live in Sydney, so it's an added bonus.
Just ensure that just "friends" can only see your posts - "friends of friends" is too wide, IMO.
LB gave me some good advice - just accept folks you would regard as friends in "real" life as friends.
(Apart from anything else, if you have too many folks as friends you'd be on Facebook all day!)
I've noticed some interesting differences between my Aussie and Canuck friends.
Aussies don't interact as much As Canucks re comments - they tend to prefer to message me privately.
The "chatty" side of me is more Canadian.

It sounds really exciting.
I wish I could participate - I could, if it were another medium other than Facebook.
Many Ontario teachers like myself have shut down their Facebook accounts, on the advice of unions. There's been so many legal issues and code of conduct issues for teachers around Facebook, that we've been told the best way to protect ourselves as professionals is to be Facebook-free.
I'll look forward to hearing about "Rock the Bible" second-hand here on the Wondercafe.
