Great pictures folks! I took a look around online and couldn't find a good one of the exterior of our church, so I will try to take one and post it in the next few days (I may have to wait for a sunny day). The interior is well covered in our website, www.staidansunited.com.

Here's a link to a picture of the United Church I attend when on most summer vacations (sometimes Christmas vacations too). It is Bethel United in Nash Creek New Brunswick, of the New Mills Pastoral Charge...

the exterior changed a little when the elevator was installed.  There was no longer need for the ramp out the side so it was removed.

This one in Burk's Falls, Ontario has a unique tower design. Is it common architecture?

Hi Stevie:

A square tower with a pyramidal spire, and on each of its four corners a smaller round tower with a lower round spire: this is the architecture of the main tower of the Temple District of the Knights Templar in Paris.

This tower was a prominent landmark in medieval Paris. It no longer stands, but one can see it depicted on paintings and drawings.

Speaking of UCC buildings, is Belledune, New Brunswick the only place that has a seperate UC Sunday School building, physically detached from any church?

ditto!  sorry I didn't give a photo credit.  it wasn't credited on the website: portperryunited.com.

It's not easy to get a photo without a car on that corner.

Nope - I suspect that it is in the minority. I remember going to Bowen Island United Church for a weekend presbytery youth retreat when I was a teen and they had a separate building for their hall. Here is a picture that I did not take:

Hey, that's just down Fanshawe from me. Drive by it everyday on the way to work. Never been in it, to be honest. My wife and son have but not for church. Kiwanis uses it for the music festival and my son sometimes goes there to compete.

It was a drive-by photo by Martin Cathrae.

More like this? The gallery page from my UU fellowship's site. No me there, I'm afraid but that may change. The official photographer took some pics of me at both the services I did over the last month. There are, of course, privacy issues and legalities involved which may be why you don't see more of these kinds of pictures.

Funnily enough, we don't have a decent pic of the building anymore. There is one on the Facility Rental page but it is badly out of date (the big tree in front of the entrance was taken out by a storm years ago) and I think it's the same one I used when I was the webmaster (I gave up that gig about 7 years ago).

I really like the Okotoks United Church. How is it a work in progress? Is that building the church building, or does the church use part of it, or is it multi-purpose?

I've talked many times about growing in the UCCan. Here is the gallery page from the website of the church where I grew up and which I still think of as "my" United Church since I haven't really been affiliated with any other United Churches since. The old place has changed in some ways, in others it still looks like it did the last time I darkened it's doors (which, I think, was for my brother's wedding in the mid-nineties). Funny part was looking at the page on the Unified Board and realizing how many of them were probably on the Board at some point when I was still a member there.

Not without signed releases.

DKS -- are you presuming that you couldn't get signed releases or stage a photo?  I mean, of course, there are requirements for posting pictures ..and most of us have encountered them at some point in our life.

PS..here is an interesting article...with links to appropriate laws.  http://ambientlight.ca/laws/overview/what-can-i-publish/

Um.. you asked a question about putting people in pictures. I pointed out that signed releases are normally necessary.
