General Council and Anti-Semitism?

I've been receiving messages from Jewish groups who seem to believe that resolutions set to be discussed at GC would limit and reduce interfaith discussion and express unfair opinion, at least have bad optics, and at worst be anti-semitic! I can't imagine that this is so and the suggestions may be a hoax, but the community seems to be taking it rather seriously. What's up?

There are a number of threads on this subject over in the GC40 forum and in Religion and Faith. That argument is something I have heard in the past, however.

Keeping Interfaith Dialogue Open

It is possible that they are responding to this op ed in the Post from last week:

http://www.nationalpost.com/related/links/story.html?id=1838598

Which is why David Giuliano submitted this op ed to the Post (although not directly stated as such, it does address some of Mr. Farber's concerns):

I think it is crucial for anyone interested in the GC40 discussions to be aware that information on discussions will be posted in as 'real time' as editing for grammar and spelling will allow on the GC40 website:  http://gc40.united-church.ca/en

(French translation of events will also be posted)

Please let everyone know that this is available.
