Over 20 years ago Bob Geldof released Do The Know its Christmas? . 5 years ago the above version was released.
So what importance do we place in feeding the starving? Is the fact the so many die of malnutrition in a time of plenty say anything to you about the world? humanity? God?
I am also embedding the original version, for those of us you remeber the time when Boy George and al were at the top of the charts.

Feed the world? My wife and I barely make enough for our family to live on. While we do both give to our respective churches, we'll next take care of feeding ourselves.

Can We Have Faith in a World where so many starve? Can anyone ask for her or his daily bread, knowing so many people who ask the same, go without and die as a consequence?

Well I should certainly hope not. That's why we give at church. After that comes the life-requirement that we ourselves eat.

Alex, you raise an interesting question, and that is...what are we called to give....how much.
Do we take off the top.....to live ....or to give.
I am not a good giver in my mind, yet, i know that I am an excellent giver in some people's minds.
what is right to give?

As for how much, we do what we can. GOD knows our situations and what we can and can't do. The answer is individual.
On a lighter note I have to say that I knew every one of the original singers (up until the great big chorus at the end) but only the guy from Coldplay, Bono, and I think I glimpsed Sir Paul McCartney from the new one. Everyone else was a mystery. That's wild to me. It's freaky to think I'm that old. Who else is in the new one? I wonder if I'll know the names if not the faces.

Personally I would say no we cannot have faith in a world where so many starve. That is one reason I don't say grace before meals it just doesn't feel right. To thank God for the food we are about to receive while others are dying from malnutrition is wrong imo. Maybe instead of saying grace at church or at home we could put aside a certain amount of money to help feed the hungry.
