Leaping Bunny Program

Take the Leap to Cruelty-Free Products

What is the Leaping Bunny Program

The Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics’ (CCIC) Leaping Bunny Program administers a cruelty-free standard and the internationally recognized Leaping Bunny Logo for companies producing cosmetic, personal care, and household products. The Leaping Bunny Program provides the best assurance that no new animal testing is used in any phase of product development by the company, its laboratories, or suppliers.

How do I go cruelty-free?

Find out which cosmetic, personal care, and household products have been certified by the CCIC’s Leaping Bunny Program by viewing our Compassionate Shopping Guide

Companies can let consumers know they care by joining the Leaping Bunny Program.

I remember seeing heartbreakingl pictures of rabbits gone blind to test mascara and other products a few years ago.  After that, there was no way I would buy any personal care product without the leaping bunny.  They aren't just trying the product as it is when we get it -- they are going to absolute extremes of ingredient and use.

There's nothing attractive about cosmetics tested on animals.  It's so unnecessary these days.

Another caveat (while we're on personal products and not to derail the thread) -- don't fall for the "organics" label on anything.  The legal loophole is that anything labelled "organics" doesn't have to be "organic".  You're just paying a premium for believing it to be organic.  Don't waste your money.
