I am worried about the spill records for pipelines operated by Enbridge and TransCanada and the apparent lack of concern by provincial and federal governments about these records.
I would like to see consequences at the management level including CEOs for environmental damage due to management, design, and construction failures.

It's a very big issue here in New Brunswick. But the government ignores it all. The gas companies are quite ruthless. They're determined to go ahead without giving much of a damn what the regulations might be - and knowing full well the provincial government won't do anything whatever regulations it might pump out.
No amount of regulation, in any case, can limit the poisoning done by the fracking method of drilling. nor can it eliminate the poisoning done by the burning of methane. The oil companies don't care. They're here to plunder all they can, and destroy what is left. And the provincial government is, to put it gently compliant.
Meanwhile, the public is patted on the head by groups like Heartland Foundation and its Canadian equivalent. I can't remember the name of it - I'll have to check it, and get back. I did much of my blog of yesterday on it. I was honoured by an angry reply from the director of the outfit. They are very shy about where their money comes from; but I think it a safe bet that all of it comes from very wealthy people involved paricularly in the oil business who want us to believe that there is no such thing as pollution or climate change.
