Please act for threatened UCC partners and activists in Colombia

A chilling death threat has been sent to 13 human rights defenders in Colombia, including Lilia Solano, part of the Justice and Life Project and someone who's visited us many times to share what's happening there.
KAIROS and the United Church are calling for people to respond with letters to officials in Colombia and Canada. Info will also be posted on the UCC site.

Human rights advocates are not popular in Colombia. And can expect more of the same in Bolivia, Guatemala, Ecuador, and other "trouble spots" as the US attempts to re-establish its power in that region.

Do not the people directly related to UCCan advocacy and action through partnership with Justice for Life (et al) in Columbia deserve the same attention - or even greater attention if their lives are in danger - than a far more removed action through boycott?
I guess if it is not popular than it is not worth discussion and action...
