Screwed up world view

What would the world be like if we all felt safe and secure?  What if we knew that no matter what happened, we would be supported and cared for by others?

We fear so much.  We fear other people, other ideas.  We fear not having enough, so we hold on to what we have.  People who have less are seen as less responsible instead of less fortunate.  We feel how little we have, so we judge who we should be helping and who we shouldn't be helping.  We are quick to see certain problems as belonging to other people and not us.

What can one person do?

MistsOfSpring, Thanks for the question. I am just as bewildered as you are. I will see if I can come up with any steps in the right direction as I go about my day. Certainly, we should attempt to be positive.

A world full of fear sounds terrible.

We think a world full of support and care would be Nirvana.

Would it be?

How about those who exploit those they know care and will always support them? How about addicts? How about enabling and codependence?

A world full of love requires that we be afraid of some things. A world full of love can demand that we love in ways that are hard or do not make the other person feel happy about it.

IMO this world is not black and white... there are not simple paths and easy peasy cures... good and evil are sometimes bed mates and some times all that distinguishes one from the other is persepective....

Then there is tough love, love which focuses on developing understanding in order to help with needs and resist unwarranted demands.  If people are committed to living in right relationships, those issues fade away.

Individual who live with little fear have much richer lives than those whose lives are driven by fear.   Here is my rewording of Mists question.

What if we knew that no matter what happened, we would find the resources we need externally and internally to deal with it?
