I have always have trouble explaining autism and aspergers (a common type of High Functioning Asbergers). Whatever I read seems to be vague. However I recently realised that there were a lot of Youtube videos made by children, teens, and adults with Autism, Learning disabilities, and Aspergers.
None of them fully explain the realities of each condition, as they affect people differently and on a spectrum. Go to my web page on www.accessiblechurch.ca and selct the link Resources on Access and Disability, and then selct the limk on Autism, and developmental disabilities. Or http://sites.google.com/site/accessiblechurch/autism
Here is one video, but if you are really interested in finding out from the minds of different people with Autism

Thanks for posting this link Alex. One of my nephew's was diagnosed as highly functioning autistic in his mid/late teens. This gives me more insight into him. I have to say that of all my neices and nephews he is my favorite.

Dear John,
Thanks for the link, I appreciate it a lot when people help point me to sites that I might be able to find information to make my web site more useful.
I have looked at their web site. I also took some time after your post to further examine their web site in case I missed something that I could put a link to.
My web site (www.accessiblechurch.ca) is looking to compile free information that people can use to make churches more accessible to people with Autism. Specifically informatrion on barriers facing them and how to deal with the barriers.
I also include in my some web site links to free information that can help people understand certain disabilities that are not well understood like autism and how it effects them.Even if they have no information on barriers and overcoming them.
I do not include links to web sites in general, I am tring to take the work and time involved out of having people to search through web sites. I do have a few links to web sites, if they include multiple and easily found free resources. Autism Ontario seems to charge money for anything that would be uselfull, However it is hard to judge even if what they charge for is usefull as I am unable to pay for them. (I am also assuming that my audience are members of churches are more likely to use ressources that are free) If nothing free is available that is equilivant to a resource is not free, I will include it.
I might have missed something on the autismontario site. I know from your posts that you know a thing or two about autism. So I would appreciate if you could point me to something I missed on their site that I could put a link to.
