For anyone who is nearby, if you want to come to the visitation it will be at Smith's Funeral Home at 485 Brant Street in Burlington on Tuesday, April 3rd from 3-5 and 7-9. You're welcome if you want to come.
I'm feeling kind of numb right now. None of this is real yet.

Oh Mists, I am so sorry to hear this. I wish that I lived nearby so that I could come to that visitation. All I can offer you are virtual hugs and the wish for you and Rachel to find peace and comfort at this time.
Would you be okay with me asking my church to pray for you during the service tomorrow?

Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Matthew 5:4.
I found this to be true myself in the past and my prayer for you is that you experience God's supernatural peace and comfort. ((HUGS)) to you.

Mistsofspring, there are no adequate words at these times just thoughts of support for you and your daughter.
Grief turns out to be a place none of us know until we reach it. We anticipate (we know) that someone close to us could die, but we do not look beyond the few days or weeks that immediately follow such an imagined death. We misconstrue the nature of even those few days or weeks.

Mists. Hoping you are surrounded by family and friends today, and yet, have time to find the time you need for yourself. It has been a rough journey and will likely continue to be so for a long time. Take care, try to accept the help of others

Mists,
Now begins the slow, painful journey to recovery of peace.
May you be warmed by the love of Rachel as you take these first faltering steps -and may you give her the love, strength and hope to undertake this difficult time.
God is with you - and, from experience, is a source of courage and comfort.

It makes sence your being in shock Mysts. I'm so sorry for your loss. But now you can finally rest in regards to his dying. Now is a sort of peace I think. Blessings and hugs to you and your little girl as you make your way through the funeral, and your mourning and find your new life. My deepest sympathies. I know you will miss him a lot. Take comfort in those around you. If I were in the area I'd come and see him and give you a hug in person. Peace to you. May your tears bring release, relief and tranquility.

I am bowing my head in prayer as I look at the clock just past 3:00 and I'm praying to God that he will give Mists and Rachel strength and courage to make it through this day while they put on brave faces to greet those that also mourn for her husband. Please join me and maybe collectively our presence will be felt as we pray.
