Sciatica

Has anyone had, or know someone who has experienced this painful neurological condition? If so, what course of treatment has brought relief and what other things have you found helpful? Does it ever go away?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Is it sciatic nerve of sacriliac joint?
I have found it flairs up ( the joint) 2 or 3 chiropractic treatments, heat and ice makes it go away. Had an episode a year ago and another a few weeks ago.

The treatment may vary depending on the cause. I haven't had diagnosed sciatica, but I'm pretty sure I've had pain from my sciatic nerve. Luckily it was just because I moved a bit funny or something and was able to stretch out so it went away quickly. Definitely not something I would want to deal with long term!
