In another thread its been pointed out that kids sometimes spend a lot of time playing games on their Wii - and that some parents wish they didn't have one.
Before Christmas Seelerman and I got a Wii. We have about four games, including the Mario one that came with it. The only one we play is the Sports. Almost every day we have a game of tennis, and a game of golf. If he isn't available I play golf, bowling, baseball and tennis. I stand, I swing my arms (both arms), I jump around hitting that ball (I had to put the coffee table between me and the screen to prevent me from charging the net (the TV) in a particularly engaging volley in tennis.) In 45 minutes I am sweating and panting. We love it. We only wish that we had more games. Perhaps baseball where we could steal basses or execute double plays. Maybe a few more golf courses. We're getting pretty familiar with the nine holes on the one we play and only the wind direction and force has to be dealt with differently in every game.
But the point is we enjoy the exercise and the interaction, with the virtual opponents, and even more with each other.
One of our best purchases in our old age!!!!

the wii is amazing
Kinect is even more amazing because your body is the controller :3
and people, being what they are, have hacked (following the ageold Torah narrative) both the wii & Kinect and have made even more amazing things
go through youtube and you will be amazed

we have wii. You can get Wii Play for more games or Wii Fit that comes with a small step. It weighs you but also moniots weight distribution-in Yoga it measures balance on 1 foot.
My favourite game is cow racing-jumping the jumps and hitting the scarecrows.
My parents who are 78 and 80 like the Wii, as does my quite overweight sister.
That said my son's current favourite Wii activitiy is using a special turntable to scratch music.
