My daughter-in-law is starting an Early Childhood program in September. (Son, DIL, and 3-yr old granddaughter live with me).

Patience to all moms (and dads! and grands!), as we wait, holding our collective breath, praying our kids will emerge from adolescence into the human beings we thought we were raising!   Judd's motto - "Keep 'em alive 'til they're 25" is always in my head!

Does the course start in September?  Is this her first time away from home for any length of time?

It is great that she wants to take some secondary education.  She must like children.  It will be hard for you to have her leave home to take this course, but there must be some appreciation that she will be staying with family.

That's wonderful news!

The course starts in January and she was away for about 6 months in the neighbouring town so it is not quite the first time she will be away. My Sister is opening her doors to her and I know it will be a good experience for Musicdaughter they get along really well.
