cute story. I don't like Conrad Black. He made democracy in Canada less possible in the eighties and supported Mulroney. He is a traitor to Canada and I was glad to be rid of him and his anti-feminist wife.
I say that the cute cat story is a ghost writer who was given one of Conrad's grade 12 essays to look at to glean vocabulary from.
Cheers

So, you think he's not even fit to rescue a cat.....?...that's a bit much. For better or for worse he's still in Canada.

It would be an admirable story, if it actually happened. I would like to think it did happen, if only for the sake of the animals involved, but considering Mr. Black wrote the piece himself, and has motive for wanting to make himself look more human, I am somewhat skeptical.
Does anyone have any verifiable evidence that it did?

I knew Conrad for a time early in h is career. I have never met a more arrogant and self-serving man - and I worked most of my life in universities largely staffed by arrogant and self-serving people.

Watch that one. Once animals begin to copy people, they're dangerous. And here you have a cat doing something most people cannot do. (I tried.)

I know....I know...Conrad continues to have his head on the chopping block. Still I like reading his articles. Here's one he wrote about "hate" and of course there's a lynch mob after him re those who are writing the comments.

It must be wonderful to talk to contact God simply by talking to oneself.
He would never commit a crime? Well, there was that incident of stealing exams and selling them in high school......

I haven't heard the exam story before but it does remind me of a recent story on CNN about doctors cheating on exams. It seems the yearly written exam questions don't change. There are oral exams too. Still I was very surprised. Off topic but here's the scoop:
American Board of Radiology: Doctors "cheating" on tests Test takers share questions from previous exams to study for tests Some doctors say it's not cheating
(CNN) -- For years, doctors around the country taking an exam to become board certified in radiology have cheated by memorizing test questions, creating sophisticated banks of what are known as "recalls," a CNN investigation has found.
The recall exams are meticulously compiled by radiology residents, who write down the questions after taking the test, in radiology programs around the country, including some of the most prestigious programs in the U.S. "It's been going on a long time, I know, but I can't give you a date," said Dr. Gary Becker, executive director of the American Board of Radiology (ABR), which oversees the exam that certifies radiologists.
Asked if this were considered cheating, Becker told CNN, "We would call it cheating, and our exam security policy would call it cheating, yes." Radiology residents must sign a document agreeing not to share test material, but a CNN investigation shows the document is widely ignored.
Dozens of radiology residents interviewed by CNN said that they promised before taking the written test to memorize certain questions and write them down immediately after the test along with fellow residents.

Wow!
but it's not entirely surprising. My experience of grad school was that it was largely memorizing, and catching onto the rules of the game.
is that story by Black for real? It.'s amazingly immature.

You'll have to ask the Nat. Post if the cat story is true or not.
Here's other articles of his I haven't read yet.
