Some good news out of California on the transgender rights front:
California baffles me politically. The state that gave us Reagan and a knockdown, drag-em-out proposition fight over gay marriage has also given us Jerry Brown and now gives us this, the first state to legislate TG rates for public school students. Some states are red, some states are blue, and some swing back and forth in ways that mystify me.

That should be "TG rights", not "rates".

Hi Mendalla:
"California Zen," for instance, gave birth to the concept of "co-evolution," which I consider the most exciting and progressive concept of our time. But California also gave us, as you said, Reaganomics and other extremely backward conservatism.
"The cradle of the best and the worst," as Leonard Cohen says. I often see 20th century Germany that way: It gave rise to some of the greatest ideas and arts of that century, but also to its greatest horrors.
Genius and madness going side by side?

Mandella, I think that we could do that with anyplace. I mean we had Trudea and Harper.... Texas had Ann Richards and then Dubya. What can we surmise from it? People are fickle LOL

Finally! ....... a bit of sanity south of the border!
I am so thankful that the changes have started.
Finally the young ones will be able to breathe.
How I wish I had all of this when I was young ..... Life would have been a lot different.
Regards
Rita
