I am amazed at your sticktooitdness as you try and try, an essential historical minority in Canada with a national party. It is something that I will never forget.
If you want to celebrate, I've managed to cadge some montreal smoked beef, some real maple syrup for flavouring in your coffee or tea. And some spruce beer and poutine.
Now we all can go aboot helping make sure Canada is the best.
you are in control of your own life. You get to choose what to say and how to act, who to love, who to hate...so what are you going to do with all that responsibility? :3

considering that he spent so many years in canadian politics and still looks like he is enjoying himself, i'd say that he's done pretty well...
i mean when you compare photos of harper when he became leader to today, or mulroney when he took office and then when he left, the images are striking... all that stress was not kind.
duceppe looks pretty much the same today as he did when he came into the position. i'll never be able to get that image of him in that cheese hat out of my head, though!!

All those BQ folks will be getting a nice golden pension for their years of service to the country they want to break up.

sighsnootles, I'd guess probably saying goodbye to the Great Man D.
MorningCalm, if you don't know me by now, I don't know if you ever will :3 Life is an invitation and I invite people to overcome their anxieties and fears and realise that, no matter what, they always have a choice.
That's what these rooms are aboot. For people to participate, if they want to. "Winning" and "losing" are for losers. It's aboot celebrating life and light and...dancing.
So the question I wrote to you was really rhetorical. No one but you is responsible for what you think and believe and do. So you have all that ability and power...to give in to tribalism or not, to be able to call everyone on this Planet your Sister and Brother...or not. But it is you who make the choice. Always :3
So MC, do you have a favourite of D's party?

Despite the BQ's epic failure this time around, they've had a good run (from their perspective). They'd been a powerhouse in Canadian politics for well over a decade, exerting significant influence on policy. Duceppe's current failure shouldn't make us forget his past successes. On balance, he's done better than most.

heck, he has had the easiest job in canadian politics, imho...
all he had to do was criticize the federalists. he had no chance of winning, so he was never under any pressure to put anything constructive on the table, and that pretty much allowed him to come out of any skirmish looking great.
heck, i'd love to have a job like that!!
and now, he walks away with a pension and a high enough profile to pretty much pick and choose anything he wants to do in quebec...
how is he a loser again?? cause i ain't seeing it...

"Duceppe lost in his riding of Laurier-Sainte-Marie, falling to the NDP's Hélène Laverdière." (source: http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/canadavotes2011/story/2011/05/02/cv-election-bloc-wrap-652.html# )
He has also quit as party leader.
Where's the win?
