Good bye and good luck!

I have given up coming here, as you have noticed. I must say, the Politics thread is pretty quiet these days.

I am off on a new project!  I am a co-blogger now at Blazing Cat Fur.  So if you want to stop by, I am blogging there under the name Frau Katze.

Anyway, best of luck to you all.  I hope you get a good replacement for Wondercafe.  I read about the problem with the upgrade.

With all the tech talent you have, it seems you will be able to create a new forum.  Good luck!

Co-blogger--coolies!*  Hopefully you'll continue to add your humanity & humour to that forum...and keep the bois in line when they go off the chain ;3

May you continue to shine forth and enjoy your life!

Never let the bastards keep you down, Frau Katze

*if the traffic on that board is still as INSANEbusy, man...what work :3

Hi Eastern Orthodox:

It's been nice catting, I mean chatting, with you here on the Cafè. Good by and good luck at Blazing Cat Fur.

I went to Blazing Cat Fur once. Boy, the fur is really flying on that site! Not for me.

Since you're now blogging there, can you talk them into changing the namecheeky? While I understand the need for the site and have no issues with its existence, "Blazing Cat Fur" just sounds horrific and cruel to this kitty lover. frown

Nevertheless, good luck with it, EasternOrthodox.

Good luck at BCF. I think I will go and check it out. I did check it out once before but I think I will do again. It will be interesting to see if they turned down the crazy.

Well I just got back from checking out some of your blogs on Blazing Cat Fur and was not impressed to say the least. What do you think of some of the comments that were made on your blog EO? Do you feel the same way as those that commented on your blog? From what I read, some of the comments were down right hateful. One person there thought all Muslims should be killed. I am wondering how many people on Blazing Cat Fur are still wearing their Klan uniform.

Dreamerman: No, many of the commenters are much more extreme than me.

I do not think anybody should be killed, and I am not supporting violence in any way.

But it is not my blog, it belongs to BCF, and he has the say on deleting comments.

Nonetheless, the experiences I have had on this forum have pushed me much farther to the right than I ever thought possible.

I do not agree with him on everything.  I am much more liberal on things like gays and abortion.

But co-blogging is kind of like marriage.  You must compromise, or start your own, and I do not want to do that, at least not now.

In real life, BCF is an easy-going person, much easier to get along with than say, Graeme.  It is funny how things work out.  The ultra-liberal with the right opinions who is a jerk, the right wing loon who is a nice guy.

Go figure.

"Compromising" in marriage means you have to learn to live with curling on TV 24/7. "Compromising" in a co-blogging "marriage" with BCF means you have to learn to live with hate 24/7. It would be like being married to Fred Phelps.

I often disagree with Graeme. Doesn't make me want to jump off the deep end, though.

And yes, perfectly sociable people can hold opinions that make you weep for humanity. They're the scary ones. The people who advertise their bigotry on their sleeves are easy to spot.

In your last sentence is something I see quite often. I have family members who would give you the shirt of their backs but don't engage them on the topic of gays, Muslims, abortion, or anyone wearing a turban because what they have to say would make Mely cringe. It woul be at least as hateful as what you would see on BCF. I am very close to my family I just don't share their opinion on these issues. At one time in my life I might have agreed with them but opinions can change over time.
