This is supposedly from a blogger and mom near Wasaga Beach, who claims to be the victim of severe intimidation by OPP and some attached to the Conservative Party of Canada;
This was linked on Reddit. Anyone know about this? Is her story credible, or is she exaggerating?

I just skimmed it. I'm confused about something though, why OPP and not RCMP?
Here, it's either municipal or RCMP, I don't think there's anything provincial,

And by skimmed, I mean through the first few paragraphs. I'm looking through more now, this is long!

Yeah, I didn't have time, either, but I thought it was worth posting, because I thought it might be up the alley of some people here.
The title of the thread sucks. Sorry.

In Ontario, policing services are provided by the Ontario Provincial Police in municipalities that don't have their own police services.

One of the comments following the article ( I believe her), was from someone claiming to be from anonymous. If true, she's been heard & everyone will know of hers and her son's plight. Not sure I agree with that, but no mom should have to endure what she has. I hope her son is innocent, but the way they were dealt with is inexcusable regardless.
Appalling.
Activism is now virtually a crime in Canada.

I've been doing some google investigating. Amy is a very outspoken political and poverty activist.
As you know the WC is directly linked to Google so I'm thinking along the lines of getting her some much needed help or advice, meaning your topic title would be better to appear as " Amy Mac Pherson Seeks Justice" or some such, with her name up top on the Google article.
I have some links regarding her identity and info. about her I'll post later. Would you be willing to start a new thread with her name as I've suggested and post your link there? (Or I can do it.)
I do believe the story she has posted on the link . I believe she was very emotional while writing it. According to the comments some people are hoping to help her.
Thx

Have Aaron change the thread title. Just flag my opening post and ask. This post is essentially my agreement.
If you're one of the serial flaggers who Aaron tends to ignore, maybe ask others to flag it.

I am not sure I believe it. I spend a lot of time up there, I would hardly call Wasaga and Collingwood the "backwoods"
She would not be the first mom who totally believed her son. He would also not be the first teen or man charged for sexual assault based on the perhaps dubious word of a teen. But it happens all the time. But that is a different discussion. How can a man defend himself against a "he said she said"
She asserts being a well respected CBC reporter who was fired because of Harper? Doubtful. CBC doesn't jump to Harper.
And if she is this toronto activist who now needs legal help, in a fight against the OPP and the government and has all these contacts, why on earth hasn't she used her contacts to get Clayton Ruby. This sounds like a case right up his alley
And lastly, I wouldn't categorize the Collingwood area as a bastion of conservatism. Yes Guergis was our last MP base do n her family name, not her own skill set. Yes we now have a great MD as our MP. To compare the two is ludicrous,

I won't bother with it. I think some people did respond on her blog and say they would try to help her. Thx. anyway. I think Clayton Ruby was mentioned . There is a lot on the net about her already.

Archive link: She did get this organization going. (Her name appears in a few other links briefly)
A Wasaga Beach resident is attempting to get a locally based charitable organization off the ground with the goal of creating a centralized place of support for those in need.
The organization, called Wasaga Cares, is the project of Amy MacPherson.
She is working to establish community partners and a board of directors.
Wasaga Cares is very much in its infancy, she said, and she is looking for help to get the organization off the ground as she works through the process of getting charitable status and registering as a not-for-profit organization.
MacPherson said Wasaga Cares will address issues relating to poverty.

Hi chansen,
Is her story credible, or is she exaggerating?
I hope it is an exaggeration. I'm not confident that the whole of the story is embellishment.
Certain elements read to close to my experience to dismiss.
Grace and peace to you.

Chansen et al
Amy's no shrinking violet. She's totally capable of solving her own problems. She's all over the net blogging like she owns it on Huffington Post, Twitter etc. It was nice of you to be concerned. She does appear to be a good advocate for poverty and social justice issues. I assume she's paid by Huffington Post? Her son has a step-father mentioned on the OP article or am I confused? There's just too much reading....!!!!
Hope I'm not repeating too much.
She's offered help on this link but there's some suggestion she may refuse it. Read the comments.
