One of the highlights of this weeks' Victoria Presbytery meeting, for me, came during the time when the members of the court present their joys and concerns. It was at that point that someone stood and said that Rev. Jim Manley was being released and that he would be reuniting with his wife in Toronto later this week. He was on a ship attempting to bring school and medical supplies to people in Gaza.

For clarity. the UCCan minister in question is Jim Manly who is different from the well-known hymn writer (from California I believe) Jim Manley. I have tripped myself on that one reading a few headlines this past week

And Jim Manly has a long, long history of engaging in a variety of social justice causes, as I recall.
