CBC Radio App

Anyone use the CBC Radio App? Ever since I updated it a few days ago, none of the Podcasts will work. Suggestions?  I already uninstalled / reinstalled and have contacted them for advice.  Thanks!

Hm. Seem to have overlooked this thread when it was posted. I tried the CBC app out on my wife's Android tab and disliked it intensely. I supposed I should check and see if it's been upgrade since then. I ditched it and went back to my old combo of Slacker and Tunein.

Slacker gives me the streaming music in themed channels (I just have a free subscrition but a paid one lets you build your own channels and gets rid of the ads). Classic Jazz (Non Vocal) and Prog Rock are my favorites. There are some good artist spotlights, too (e.g. Bob Dylan) as well as channels programmed around specific artists choices (e.g. there's a channel programmed based on selections by Canadian indie band Metric).

Tunein gives me streams of radio stations, including the local CBC 1 & 2, as well as streaming of podcasts including a lot of CBC and NPR ones, e.g. Tapestry from CBC and On Being (a comparable series) from NPR.

Both are available on all major mobile platforms including Blackberry (I use my BB as my music player).

Hi Mendalla,

I really enjoy the CBC so was pleased when they finally fixed their app for my IPOD.  It still goes silent and new content hasn't been added for like a week which it's usually daily.  I just wish all its shows were in podcast form in this app.  Some I have to go online for which is just weird.

Yes CBC has streaming music in dozens of gendres too.  I like the local stations and if I miss something I can tune into one that's in a different time zone which is pretty cool (just like TV).

I'll have to check-out your suggested app of Tunein.

Thanks!
