Just curious who are followers of Coronation Street.
If you are, when did you start?

Not as loyal as I used to be - I rarely watch any TV these days.
I think I first started watching when I was 4 years old. (My mom and Grandmother watch it.)

I must admit to being hooked on Coronation Street.
Watched it from when i was just a kid, maybe 7? with my grandma/mom. (that is many decades ago)
Quit for a number of years, as I left home, went to school, got married, etc.
now that we have pvr, and i can set it to record, and watch later, well, back to being a fan.

I've watched it for years, although I confess I am not as enamored with it these days.
I miss the eccentrics; Bett, Mike Baldwin, Fred, Edna, even Jack and Vera.
There doesn't seem to be the focus on the extraordinary whackiness of the ordinary person anymore which was what appealed to me. Anyone could live on that street, meet those people, see the humour and pathos in the regular guy's world just as our own.
Or perhaps the world as passed me by and the Street now reflects the lack of humour and simplicity it once did.....

Yes, LB, I too miss some of the "ordinary person".
Ena Sharples ..aaah...the hairnet and that acid tongue.
