In the movie - "The Devil's Advocate" with Al Pacino and Keanu Reeves
Do you find it aligns with Christianity?
or
Do you think it mocks Christianity?
Which mode do you think it was produced in?
In the movie, the devil says "Better to reign in Hell, than serve in Heaven"
Do any of you agree with that statement?

By the way, this movie came out in 1997, so many of you might not have seen it.
It's available on DVD at the rental stores.

i watched it a number of years ago... all i remember is feeling queezy at the part where this woman was sitting in her afterbirth or somesuch thing...
i don't remember feeling challenged by it, so i guess my answer would be that no, i don't think it challenged my faith. not as much as 'dogma' or 'last temptation of christ' did, anyways.

IBelieve,
Hi,
I saw the movie quite some time ago. Like most Hollywood portrayals of good and evil it left me feeling bland.
You asked:

or
Do you think it mocks Christianity?
I think it did a pretty shoddy job od dealing with Christianity. I think many of the folk who write the screenplays for movies like this don't really get Christianity at all and they go for the fringe element and consider it to be the norm.

I think that it is a quote from Paradise Lost by Milton that the Devil is quoting.

I don't agree with it. But that isn't really the point behind the quote is it?
Do I think that the Devil believes it?
Hard to argue that I think.
Grace and peace to you.

It was just another crappy Keanu vehicle really wasn't it? A bit of "schlock and aweful" from Hollywood.

Yes, you are right. It is a quote from John Milton, but didn't you notice that the devil's name in the movie was none other than "John Milton"
Be Blessed,
IB
PS: He's a tricky devil!!
The whole point of the questions, especially the first two.
