WOW, isn't it funny what makes the news? I seem to think there might be something a little more important then a divorce that everyone knew was coming.
Sidenote: And marriage is suppose to be such a sacred thing isn't it?... seems like it's just turned into a PR tool...

Don't confuse what Hollywood does to people who take marriage seriously. quite frankley that is not fair. It seems that people like to focus on divorce rates and so on. But what about those who have been married for a long time and are still going strong. My wife and I attended a Promise Keepers work shop last year and there were lots of couples (husband and wife) who have been married for over 50 years. One couple have been married for over 60 years. Marriages do work. But only for those who take it seriously and stand before God. This bashing of marriage seems a bit onesided when you just focus on the negative. Let's see the whole picture.

Hollywood marriages seem like a totally different entity from 'regular' marriages.
I think the majority of people are happy that Brit and K-Fed are splitsville (myself included). I mean really, he is such a TOOL.

In hollywood i'm sure 99% of the time it is just a publicity thing, but outside there are lots and lots of couples that have long happy marriages.

had my grandmother lived another week, her and my grandfather would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. it was so beautiful, even on the last days my grandparents were holding hands.

chickenplusdog When Our Lord Jesus was asked about divorce his answer was "It is because of your hardness of heart that Moses wrote a decree of divorce, but in the beginning it was not so. Male and female He created them."

Don't you think that Hollywood marriage is marriage that begins as most of us do with a projection that the beloved is "perfect for us" and then never gets to the point of recognising the reality of the other and struggling together?
As an actor, I always fell "in love" with my leading lady but I didn't mistake it for the commitment and love that I brought to my marriage.
"in love" gets us there, to love ( the verb) keeps us there. Hollywood marriage doesn't give the space and privacy needed to struggle and come through the difficult times of marriage.

Consuming Fire
Thanks for that resounding support of marriage.
How can anyone let what hollywood does influence their lives.
