I mentioned in another thread that I had recently watched The Lorax and I thought it would be fun to see if anyone else here had seen it yet. If you have seen it - what did you think?

The Lorax is, of course, based on the Dr. Seuss book. To me, the book was ahead of its' time - all about environmentalism. The movie is, obviously, a longer - more fleshed-out - version of the story. I thought that it stayed very true to the book in both story and imagery (it's animated and the animations just like the pictures in the book). I thought it had an excellent mix of humour and seriousness. We took our church's junior youth group (ages 11-12) to see it last Friday and everyone enjoyed it. Afterwards we came back to the church and had an excellent discussion about it - and especially the environmental theme of it.
Paradox3 asked if I would recommend it and my answer is absolutely! I give it two thumbs up.

somegalfromcan,
If you had a few kids ranging from 7-12 would it still work?

Aha, I recall that name now... I'll watch for it at our theater.

SG - there were a couple of kids sitting in front of me who looked to be about 6-7 years old and they were also really enjoying themselves. It really seemed like a movie that people of all ages could enjoy and get something out of.
