When you hear the word in the title, what do you think of?
Don't Google it. I'm intereted in what others think this word reminds them of.

Well because it is in Popular Culture, my mind went to women's hair to jewelry accessories, or music, or some new kind of health food :).

My first thought: 'sea monster' - like Nessie. I've honestly never run across the term before.

Ditto on "Nessie" but I was a cryptozoology geek as a kid. I think I have heard it before, though. Just can't remember what it means.

Plessie - I'm thinking of some small gift (flowers, home-baked cookies, a book, a phone call, a hug) given for no reason at all other than to please and cheer somebody. Probably that would be spelled 'pleasie'.

My mind went to Lassie first, probably just because the words are similar. Plessie doesn't sound at all familiar, I cheated and googled :) I thought for a while before googling though, and that's what my mind went to - Lassie.

I thought "please", too. Likely in the same way that kids say cutesy versions of certain words before they can pronounce them correctly.

I'm very impressed with everyone. Thank you all for your thoughts.
For some reason my mind goes in the gutter with "Plessie" so I'm glad none of yours did as well.

I think of Plessey,a place in England. It is a park that has bluebell woods - very nice.

I looked it up and still don't know what it is. The only thing I could find for a character from Super Mario Bros. Is that it? btw. my first guess was something like a pleat.

You are right: it's a cool character from a video game!
