Ok. You know who you are. You know what I'm talking about.
Spam posts.
Topic Line: Jesus is Lord! and then the subject matter inside is some vague comment from scripture.
Topic Line: Something about crowns. And then the subject matter is trying to make you believe the ten commandments.
I mean, come on? How many good topics have been buried because of such spam posts that basically just try to say the same thing every time, posted 20 times a week!
Admins, is there a way to pin really interesting topics that are generating a lot of discussion? (They can be unpinned after a while...)
I just think we've lost some great discussions because of these spam posts.
Troll posts. What ever they are called.
The monk doesn't like them. And, yes, he hasn't slept.

Yo MadMonk! Troll posts are ruining this site.
But there are also some seriously uninteresting - some paralysingly tedious and repetitive topics - that I find almost as bad. Yet they attract scores of posts. I made the blunder of mentioning apocalyptic theology in the U.S. military (after a CBC story about it) and, after some worthwhile posts, it got seriously nutty. And I am wearied beyond words by obbsessive-compulsive posts about sexuality that repeat the same tired, negative and unhelpfully narrow things over and over and over.
Do we forbear, stop bothering and sign off, or plead with the administrators to put some sense into things. Whose sense?

By far and away the thread with the most posts (some 500) and the most views (nearly 5000!) is about homoexuality. In fact, all the threads that concern homosexuality have extraordinarily large numbers of posts and views. It's exceedingly peculiar.

BTW, MikeP, where was the post on "apocalyptic theology in the U.S. military?" I missed that one. As a "recovering American" and US Army veteran, I would like to read what you had to say. Or perhaps you could point me to a Web reference.

The thing about these people who are obsessed with homosexuals is that they go on and on about its all disgusting, perverted smut but they can't stop thinking about it, talking about it, looking at it, even dreaming about it.
They say that 'The Lord' doesn't like it but if it wasn't for homsexuals, what would the christian social conservatives do with themselves?

On the subject of spam, I keep getting these ridiculous emails that usually claim to be selling Viagara and I always delete them without even looking at them. Some have crazy names like 'Beelzebub' or 'Ivanna Fux'.
Why does anybody send these things? What do they have to gain? Are these 'bots' for carrying viruses?

One could be forgiven for thinking that the primary concern of Christians is homosexuality: who's doing it, who'se not; is it a sin or not; do gays go to hell; can a gay person be saved; just what do they DO anyway; and on and on ad nauseam.
