My sister-in-law posted this to her Facebook and I've been hearing about it in other places as well. So, I'll post it here to kick off (I hope) a thread of seasonal musical cheer. I give you ... drummer Sean Quigley with his rendition of The Little Drummer Boy.
Merry Christmas,
Mendalla

Wow somegal - that is a fantastic seledtion of music. Thanks so much for sharing it.
Who are Libera? What country do they originate in and where do they sing?

I'm glad you liked that Kay! Libera are a boys choir from London, England. Apparently they are associated with St. Phillips Church there.
Here's a video that they literally released today!
Mendalla - I really enjoyed your video too and have added it to my playlist.

John Lennon's Happy Christmas, War is Over is good, but this blues version by Boy George and Antony Hegarty is a masterpiece. My favorite Christmas song.

Well I'm not feeling very xmasy yet, but I am listening to some nice winter music, so I'll share some pieces I enjoy, that are verging on being xmasy : )
This one perhaps a bit more than verges, but I listen to it on the soundtrack year round.
This one's very special:

This one's not exactly Christmassy either - but it certainly is seasonal!

May we never forget this classic, because the season is all aboot the big hair, the glam, and the Stratocaster you've been waiting forever to get.

My favourite cover of Gaudete, which I discovered completely by accident by asking for "music by women" from everyone on my list
My favourite Monkees song, their cover of "Riu Riu Chiu", a 14th Century Spanish villancico.
A little ditty from Sufjan Stevens
Thanks to my Tourette's hearing (and thinking), I've associated this song with the holy daze season
Someone who, like Tom Waits, trusts in the intelligence of their audience and whose voice I fall in love with over and over again

This is a beautiful version of Angels We Have Heard on High:
That is gorgeous. I hadn't realized that (a) Sixpence None the Richer were a "Christian band" (the name comes from Mere Christianity by CS Lewis) and (b) had done a Christmas album (Dawn of Grace). I only knew them from the songs of theirs like "Kiss Me" that have hit the pop charts, which I liked much.
Here's another one from the same album:

OK, After several days and three overnight tries, I got my Lori Pappajohn video uploaded. Winter music, with harp and flute, shot in my backyard. My first moving picture music video! It's a bit sketchy, and I promise to improve, but I hope you enjoy it, and a glimpse of my pretty property! : )

I liked the Tori Amos, though I didn't catch all the lyrics. My favorite Gaudete is by Steeleye Span. I also checked out two Carpenters xmas songs yesterday. Love her voice. John Lennon loved her voice too and complemented her on it. That meant a lot to her. Saw that in a documentary last spring.

I'm a little behind, and enjoying the Flaming LIps track. That Wayne Coyne's pretty cute! How come I never heard them when I was young?? I would have liked that in the early 90's. Darn. I know the name though.
And Vienna Teng's voice is so lovely. Nice song.
OK, the Escondarum one is pretty wierd...lol.
