Last nights episode of Little Mosque on the Prairie included a scene where the Anglican minister shares with the new Imam about what happened when he discovered his choir master did pot. The minister decided that as only he that is without sin could cast the first stone, he didn't do much. However at the church picnic, when the minister tried one of the choir master's brownies (which had an extra ingredient) things changed ... Shortly there after, the choir master went to work for a United church. Although I laughed at the time, I am not sure what I think. Was this an appropriate joke?

I thought it was a great joke.
The whole point of this series is to make you think while laughing.
THe UCC is probably the most liberal Christian group out there, so what's the big deal?

When All In The Family came out, it broke all the voodoo subjects and people learned not to take themselves so serious.
I believe this sitcom will do the same thing.
I think it is hilarious and I have only seen two shows.
Last nights show was when the young muslim girl was dressing in a skimpy tshirt and her father said she looked like a protestant.
She said, you mean prostitute.
He said no I mean protestant.
As a protestant I say what a hoot.
All In The Family poked fun at peoples bigotry, hatred and rascism of the day and this series looks like its going to do the same.
I can hardly wait for the next episode.

the united Church reference was very funny. If we laugh at others we have to laugh at ourselves

I thought that line was hilarious. And there might be thousands of people checking out the United Church for the first time today!
I thought last night's episode was much better than the first. The writing has been amazing - they poke fun at the foibles while respecting the people. I'm hooked!

Diana, your hooked? On what? The brownies at your church picnics? LOL.
Glad to know that you folks can take it in strid. I have to say, Diana, I have never been more interested in the idea of attending a UCC function as I am now -- any picnics coming up soon?

Hey, the Bible didn't say smoking pot was a sin, right? I think I will post this as a new topic.

You got it, Jeffery, Gives new meaning to the term holy rollers, doesn't it?

Haven't seen the show yet but I am looking forward to next wednesday so that I can get in on what sounds like one of the best shows on TV right now. Let's hope it doesn't suffer the same fate as all really good shows on TV, the one or two season curse....I find good shows tend to disappear quickly...I hope that won't happen with this

Indeed Colleen! The best Canadian and British shows are picked up and copied by Americans, and then they disappear. Cold Case into Cold Squad. The Office into the Office. Could one argue that Da Vinci's inquest was a precursor to the CSI chain?
So, I wonder if we should expect Little Mosque in Kansas or on Little Mosque on the Bayou?

Too funny!! I caught this show for the first time last night - saw a lot of preamble leading up to it though. Loved the issues that they tackled in 30 minutes. Got to try that "what makes a good barrier?" next time I want to win and argument with my husband. (LOL)

Not only "holy rollers," but also "don't get too puffed up"¦" as well as, "I'm going outside to pull some weed"¦er"¦weeds." Oh God, it's got me! How about, "I'm feeling very stiff in my joints this morning; it's token me by surprise this time"¦man."

It certainly pokes a hole in NIMBY (not in my back yard).
there's lots of stereotypes and dark truths worth skewering.

Loved it, but hoped our choir director wasn't watching :) She's a retired school teacher! Dang, thought those brownies tasted funny...
