Is there any way to turn of automatic creation of hyperlinks in a Word document?
When I type www.whatever.com, it turns blue and underlines. I can turn the hyperlink off by right clicking and selecting Remove hyperlink, but it won't always stick. I was sure there was some way to turn off automatic hyperlinking.
Anyone know?

Turn on or off automatic formatting of hyperlinks
Microsoft Word can format Web and e-mail addresses as hyperlinks (hyperlink: Colored and underlined text or a graphic that you click to go to a file, a location in a file, a Web page on the World Wide Web, or a Web page on an intranet. Hyperlinks can also go to newsgroups and to Gopher, Telnet, and FTP sites.) as you type, but you can turn off this feature if you want.
On the Tools menu, click AutoCorrect Options, and then click the AutoFormat As You Type tab.
Under Replace as you type, select or clear the Internet and network paths with hyperlinks check box.
Hope this helps Blah (FYI: Word 2003)

It could have been "word," like "word up, y'all"

So a 'live long and prosper' reference would likely be too much, eh?

I'm not sure it would fit into what I'm writing.

In the beginning was Word.
Although I think WordPerfect got there first.
