Nice to hear, as an ex montrealer, that St. James seems to be reviving. (Intended to be the national cathedral of methodism, it was built about 1905 in a very upper class section of Montreal. Alas! There was a sudden movement of the rich to the west of the city, so St.James lost most of its congregation, and was surrounded by stores, small factories, shopping streets and banks and offices.)

The store-front buildings that covered the façade of St. James United Church, have since been removed, uncovering the church for the first time in 100 years for Montrealers to see!

If you are ever back in Montreal, its a MUST-SEE!

In the last 6 years, since I have been a congregant, St. James has been a VITAL member of Montreal's downtown community... I am so proud of my church community's outreach!
