We saw the oncologist this afternoon and we have an actual plan now. He will have 4 weeks of high dose Interferon Alpha, followed by a 2 week break, then 5 weeks of radiation, followed by a 2 week break, then 48 weeks of low dose Interferon Alpha. We don't know when it will start, but it should be soon, after whatever tests he needs.

MistsOfSpring, I'm glad to hear that there is a plan of action in place. Sounds like a challenging journey ahead of you. Hopefully the treatments will start soon. Thinking of you and your family - may you be filled with an abundance of hope, peace, joy, and love.

that sounds like some optimistic good news.
The treatment is tiring but be sure to access the Cancer Society. Volunteers are great at helping with driving to treatments so you don't need to take time off work

Illness - diagnosis - treatment plan
It seems like things are progressing for your family, Mists. It's not going to be easy, the road will be rough and rocky at times, but you have a map to follow, a plan in place. My prayers go with you on your journey.

Thanks for checking in with the 'cheering section' Mists. It always seems to take so long for treatment to actually get under way - but its good to hear that it is getting closer for you guys. Know that many people are thinking of you and praying for things to go well.

Thank for the update Mists of spring-or Autumn Splendour
A plan is good.
My advice is to arrange some childcare for Rachael. Jim won;t be up to it right after chemo. In-lawa, daycare, a nanny type coming in would all work.
May treatment start soon and be effective.
