So I'm a teacher, and I just went back to school.
And I found out 3 of my co-workers' marriages fell apart over the summer, and they're now in hostile and heartbreaking divorce proceedings. ("The summer of separations," as another co-worker put it.)
My 15th wedding anniversary is coming up in a few weeks, and I realize how fortunate I've been in my marriage.
We'd like to do something special to mark the occasion, and I'd like some ideas from you Wondercafers. It has to be a weekend thing, as with our jobs and our children and dog we could only get away for a weekend. We also don't like to spend a lot of money on ourselves, so we're not thinking about a weekend at a couples' spa or the Bahamas or something lke that.
So we're looking for something meaningful and special. Something indulgent but not extravagant.
Any ideas appreciated!

What about revisiting a spot where something meaningful in your relationship happened? I'm thinking of a place like wherever the proposal took place?

I was thinking the same a somegal. Proposal, first date, or wedding related.
If the location is too difficult, can you do something to recreate related - a mini wedding cake, a similar meal, etc.

well go it does depend where you live. What is meaningful for you?
If in Ont. would a weekend at Niagra falls be a treat?
A special concert?
A weeend in New York?
A trip to the Royal Winter fair in Toronto?
A chance to drive cars on a racetrack?
Borrowing a friends cottage for a nature weeknd?
A dinner cruise in vancouver?
