realize that the gentle of heart value peace above all else, but be very careful what you wish for. As the old saying goes, you might get it.
Just a thought
David
I am borrowing something, my friend , David posted on Jae's thread. I hope he doesn't mind.
When i read this I immediately thought of Stepford wives, and the movie with Gregory Peck where he cloned a bunch of little Adolph Hitlers.
And I thought of koolade.
Even good intentions lead to
things are not peaceful and not where we want to be as a society and as God's people.

Conflict is necessary in this life, and differences of opinion are a must, but conflict resolution and debating our differences of opinion need not be violent or offensive.
The violence or offence comes in when we believe ourselves to be absolutely right and the other party to be absolutely wrong. Many people would rather be dead than wrong, and fight to the death for being right.
This, I think, is dead wrong.

crazyheart,
As a wise sage once said, there are known knowns, unknown knowns, known unknowns, and unknown unknowns.
of course good intentions can have not-so-good effects.
Everything we do is a result of a cause-effect ripple that has happened before us, and will continue long after we do the action.
What to do? Do I see every leaf that falls as an example of failure? Do I examine the leaves as they fall, watch how they change colour with the seasons, note the different sizes and shapes of the leaves? Do I try to save every leaf? Do I try to change the colour of the leaves somehow? Do I try to teach others aboot leaves?
What to do?

Spiders have a tradition of rape and murder...a tradition that has proved to be a good survival tradition...for for 400 million years!
We've been around a hundred thousand or so...sooo...
We are warring creatures that enjoy rest periods?
What about the wonder-benefit of religion? Not for everybody. Not even for many.
Matthew 7:14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

"Wise sage"? That was the defense Sect'y of the U. S. of A. Yessir!c At a press conference.
Wise old sage? Lying war-monger.

Yes. I saw my Cat catch a butterfly. I thought 'That cat probably does not know that he has just saved Osaka Japan from a terrific storm'
I think like that a lot.
When will we part universes? (The really neat-o thing about 'many worlds' is that your Aunt Matilda didn't DIE, she's in a universe where they had a cure for -- that.)

Well, Happy Genius, these say-nothing statements from the TAO TE CHING do come in handy, eh? One can give sage advice without saying anything.
The TAO that can be told is not the TAO.
