Do Christians dream about heaven?

I mean if you believe in a sort of heaven, have you ever dreamed you were there?

I had a dream recently (described in my Crazy Dreams thread in Social) where I had a chance to walk through a gateway to the "beyond" but there was no telling what was there. One might find a sort of dreamworld, or one might find, there was no conciousness at all beyond that point, so I wasn't about to go thorugh and find out. There would be no coming back. I was in a sort of half way world, floating, and everything was light and bright and pleasant and dreamy.

So, where I could not see what was beyond in my dream, do you in yours?

Hi Elanorgold,

One sort of heaven was being in the presence of a certain someone.  I've dreamt dreams of being in the presence of that certain someone.

I believe in heaven as a real place I have no recollection of ever having dreamt I was in it.

Grace and peace to you.

John

I believe heaven is here on earth, so if life has ingredients such as peace, tranquility, hope, joy, beauty, love, compassion.....and I dream about those things, then I have found heaven.

A couple of years ago I was kayaking on Georgian Bay.  It was a bright, sunny and warm day with incredible cloud patterns in a cerulean sky.

The bay was calm as water kissed my paddle.  I felt a gentle comfort from a light breeze - the hand of God lightly caressing my shoulder.   I've never dreamt of anything like this but for me this was heaven.   Perhaps for awhile I was in a state of other-worldly consciousness.

Whenever I dream of heaven, I tend to be wide awake.

Don't think THAT was a dream.  He really went there.  Otherwise he would have said it was a dream.  He just couldn't tell if the trip was in his body or out of it.

I believe eternal life STARTS here on earth.  Everything here was originally given by God in a perfect state.  Then sin entered in.  But all will again be perfect - even better than feeling a light breeze on a sunny and warm day - in heaven.  And I LOVE warm sunny days.  Imagine that being forever.  Man, I want to go there!

I feel like the real heaven is beyond anything I could dream about. I'll have to just hope and pray and wait.

You could come to Australia - we have lots of warm sunny days.

Heaven isn't a place - it's a state of mind, IMO.

Jesus implied heaven was a condition of relationship with God, self and others.

But that was just one definition for our state of mind as we became one with Jesus.

Jesus talked about many other defintions. Such as where His father's house was.

Where the new Jerusalem descended from.

Where Jesus ascended to.

What flesh and blood cannot inherit.

Paradise

Where the wicked are excluded from

Where Elijah and Enoch were translated to.

I could go on and on but it indicates that it may start as a Jesus mindset but the destination is not here.

So has anyone ever had a dream where they were dying? Or came near to the afterlife? Or perhaps a dream of having been in a previous incarnation? Or maybe meeting Jesus?
