The idea for this sub-thread about FACTS, FICTION, FAITH & FANCY--true, false, useful and whatever, which make us who we are--came to me a few days ago during a period of what I now call META-tation.
Whenever I feel the need--and it is an on-going need that I have--for physical, mental and/or spiritual help, I simply tune in to, connect with, what I now like to call G-Õ-D, which I do not think of as an entity out there. For me, G-Õ-D symbolizes all that is good, opportune and desirable. I call this process META-tation.

Interestingly, in Aramaic--the language of Jesus--the word is Slaha. It means to connect with, to tune in to. It does not mean to petition a god in prayer.
That is, I have and internal dialogue with Gød (the Spirit, not an entity, within each of us). I within each of us, on what artists speak of as the primary colours as symbols of body (RED) mind (YELLOW) and spirit (BLUE):
Outside my head I affirm that I am at one with, G-Õ-D ( and inside my head, I often play with theses colours

The primary colours are red, yellow and blue.
First let us ask: What do they do?
You are willing to take the time to see?
Then let me say what they do for me:
Blue skies remind I AM, and so should be.
Now with the help of the sun's yellow glow,
I AM reminded to think, know and grow.
By Red I'M reminded, hour after hour,
That there's an infinite of this power.
G-Õ-D to know, do and to be, who we are.

Speaking of facts, I find that this is one of the pleasant facts of nature of the kind that is very useful and worth knowing. Naturally, I want more pleasant facts like this--the kind that help us be more aware, conscious and evolved beings.
1. I BEGIN WITH THE FACT THAT I AM. Therefore, I have the power to be, to know, to learn and to take action.
2. But not all facts are of the pleasant kind. Some, come with pain and suffering attached and are there to warn and to motivate us to take actions that will lead to our higher good.
For example, in the 1960's, when our daughter, Catherine (born 1956)--was nearly eight years of age. For reasons our family doctor could not understand, more than once, she began getting dreadfully ill, again and again, with a severe, life-threatening lung condition which led to pneumonia. At first, antibiotics helped, but only temporarily. Eventually, our family doctor referred us to specialists at the hospital for children, here in Toronto.
After five bouts of pneumonia in the winter of 1963/1964, even the doctors at the Hospital for Children admitted they were at a loss as to what to do. In a meeting, two of them told us not to expect her to survive another attack.
3.THIS FACT MOTIVATED US TO DO SOME DEEP THINKING ABOUT NON-PHYSICAL CAUSES--the kind I now call pneuma-psychosomatic causes.
4.AT THIS POINT, WE BEGAN TO GET RESULTS.
It was then, with the approval of our family doctor, that I first began to experiment with hypnotherapy--what I now call pneumatherapy--using, as above mentioned, the primary colours--and other colours--all that promote healing.
Needless to say, we were deeply thankful--to all, including the doctors and nurses, who helped--that our daughter not only survived her ordeal, she thrived. [more facts and details on this later]

I am happy to hear that your daughter is better.
Vera Stanley Alder in her book "Finding of the Third Eye" spoke about the use of colors in healing and other matters. Interesting, if true. How would one go about testing such claims?

AT THE QUANTUM, OR MICRO, LEVEL
Whenever I feel the need--and it is an on-going need that I admit that I have--for physical, mental and/or spiritual recreation, I simply tune in to, connect with, at the quantum level what I now like to call Gød--the Spirit, not an entity, within each of us. Within each of us, there are also what artists speak of as the primary colours. I find them to be useful symbols of body (RED) mind (YELLOW) and spirit (BLUE):
AT THE MACRO LEVEL
Now note the symbol G-Õ-D, which I do not think of as an entity, or a being with dimensions, out there. For me, G-Õ-D symbolizes all that is good, opportune and desirable. I call this process META-tation. Similar to 'contemplation'--thinking carefully, using the mind as our servant, over a long period of time.
Just recently, on PBS, I about the work of a professor of neurology, Rudolf Tanzi at Harvard.: He told his audience, "Do not let your mind use you. It is there to be your servant."

What Dr. Tanzi said was not unlike what Jesus taught over 2000 years ago.

As you can see, I made a few changes in my revision of my first post. I hope it does not cause confusion when I added information about the work of Professor Tanzi of Harvard.

I am happy to note that more and more universities are now open to what once was considered as part of the occult--things like hypnosis.
Have you got a link to the author you quoted?
Beginning with my daughter's case, since 1964--and hundreds of cases since then--I have done extensive studies of the art of hypnotism. I even have a USA licence--the result of many hours of study with a very qualified practitioner who gave a course here in Toronto. He was also a minister in Penn. USA, where I studied at his clinic. Later, he even invited me to his clinic to give lectures.
BTW, it is my firm belief that yoga (see Acts 10:10 and 11:05)--which is basic to hypnosis--was involved in the healing stories we read about in the Bible. Your comments and questions are most welcome.

You're asking if people are reading your posts and links. It seems to me that they like short posts on the WC. Few people will take the time or have the patience to read a lot at one time. Perhaps they have very small print on their puters ( most people do). I have large print so I can read on the net for hours with no problem even although I have very bad eyes.
