Hi Folks,
One of last projects of Emerging Spirit was to publish "Faith in a Time of Change: Selections from EmergingSpirit.ca". This book offers a selection of posts from the Emerging Spirit blog (www.emergingspirit.ca), focusing on responses to the challenges of doing ministry in the 21st century Canadian context. It was edited by Michael Kooiman, who curated the selection of posts along with a jury of ministry practitioners and revised them for book form. We're getting really great feedback from those who have read it.
I've got a few copies I'd be happy to send out to folks who would be willing to read it and review it on their blog, Facebook page, or church website -- and cross-post your review here on WonderCafe.
If you have an interest in emerging ministry in 21st century Canada and would like a copy of Faith in a Time of Change to review, please let me know.
Thanks,
Aaron

I've started reading mine - and I'm loving it! Brief and thoughtful posts - I can think of many ways to use the writings. I'll post more about it when I'm finished.
And I agree with Elanorgold - great cover!

I am on a reading and writing rampage lately. I could likely muster up a review. I'm thinking about how the church can remake itself to make a difference when so many of our institutions are waving the white flag. Send me a copy if you can.

GordW, thank you so much for your thoughtful review. I really appreciate you taking the time to read the book and think and write about it.
I think Michael Kooiman and his team did a great job putting it together (but I'm biased!). Even though I was very familar with the articles, I found it to be a great read in book form. I'm also glad some people like the cover. Something we're always a little nervous about when we put it out.
Peace,
Aaron

Excellent review Gord.
As for the quote - ObiWan - in Episode IV - A New Hope - 1977 ... that's my best guess!

An excellent summary, worth the cost (even if you pay for the copy). No quick fixes but lots of things to think about.

Thanks Panentheism and RevJamesMurray for taking the time to read and review the book. We appreciate your responses. Yes, the short reflection format isn't for everyone, but meant to be merely an occasion to start a discussion on these issues.
Thanks again,
Aaron
