Gifts greater than God's?

Science, like religion, must work with simple concepts the human mind can comprehend. But if biocentrism is right, nature has much bigger plans for us than just this or that life — plans far beyond anything religion has ever projected to any god.

----so sez Dr. Lanza. Anyone readimg him, or in the least interested in

Biocentrism

???

Google it and see if your mind remains un-blown...

I don't think nature has any fixed plan, but it certainly evolved in us a creative organ that is almost limitlessly creative.

What we need to do is put our brain to good and creative use.

I don't think Dr. Lanza's hypothesis is taken very seriously by most of the scientific community. It certainly doesn't seem to be falsifiable, at least not yet.

Absolutely true. Got me thinking about the scientific community's track record, though --

What? The earth moves around rhe sun?

What? Heavier is not faster?

What? Clocks slow down ...time slows down the faster you move?

et cetera.

'Sides, Dr. Lanza is not just the smartest person on the planet; he gives good explanation.

Some ideas are opinion-buttressing, some ideas  are brand new, some ideas are truely boggle-worthy.

At the other side of Boggleville, Kurtsweil predicts that the day is just 20 years away from the world changing event: when computers become aware, intelligent, and able to enhance that intelligence...

Whee!

Well, my dear stardust, I was talking about the brain, but my brain thinks that it is the most sexual organ in my body.

I've been feasting on Dr. Lanza just like eating chicken, picking him clean to the bone! Endless possibilities.....I'm a believer. I've been reading a lot about nanotechnology ,something similiar? I still stand in awe at the miracle of the internet. Its only a tidbit, a little taste of what's waiting in the wings. There's some old  Hopi prophecy I can't find now about machines booting us out and taking over the world. It said our electrical gadgets will start to talk , a forerunner of what's really happening :-)

Robert Lanza is considered one of the leading scientists in the world. He is currently Chief Scientific Officer at Advanced Cell Technology, and a professor at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He has several hundred publications and inventions, and over two dozen scientific books: among them, Principles of Tissue Engineering, which is recognized as the definitive reference in the field. Others include One World: The Health & Survival of the Human Species in the 21st Century (Foreword by President Jimmy Carter), and the Handbook of Stem Cells and Essentials of Stem Cell Biology, which are considered the definitive references in stem cell research. Dr. Lanza received his BA and MD degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was both a University Scholar and Benjamin Franklin Scholar. He was also a Fulbright Scholar, and was part of the team that cloned the world's first human embryo, as well as the first to clone an endangered species, to demonstrate that nuclear transfer could reverse the aging process, and to generate stem cells using a method that does not require the destruction of human embryos.

Exactly how I feel. With Google's translations...Instant translation, all languages, world wide...

A first-time planet-wide human coming together? What a great hope!
