Wasn't quite sure where to post this - it's a story from Toronto Star this week about Rosedale United Church & how it commissioned an artist to create some garden tools from gun barrels ...

It's the modern day equivalent of the NT commandment to forge swords into plow shares and spears into pruning hooks.
When I was young and apprenticing as a blacksmith, we went the other way. My brother and I forged a sword from a discarded slat of a cylinder of a threshing machine. But we used the sword only for chopping wood.
