Has anyone read the book "Lamb: The Gospel According To Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal", by Christopher Moore?
From Wikipedia: "Biff has been resurrected in the present day, to complete missing parts of the Bible. Supposedly under the watchful eye of the angel Raziel, who turns out to be more interested in the soap operas on the television in their hotel, Biff is made to write down his account of the decades missing from Jesus' life. During these years he and Joshua (which, as Biff points out, "Jesus" is the Greek version of, and thus in Galilee Jesus was called Joshua Bar Joseph) travel to the East to seek the Three Wise Men who attended Joshua's birth, so that he may learn how to become the Messiah".
I Loved it, I know some people found it ofensive, but read as humorious fiction, I found it reafirmed my faith.
what did you think ?

I hadn't heard of it before but it sounds pretty kewl to me. I'm always good to go for a laugh
The author has cited Bulgakov's novel The Master and Margarita -- particularly its Biblical scenes told from Pontius Pilate's point of view -- as a partial inspiration to create this novel[2]. Other works referred to within the novel itself are the Kama Sutra, the Torah, the Upanishads, the Bhagavad Gita, Sun Tzu's The Art of War, the Tao Te Ching and, of course, the Gospels of the New Testament.

lol- yes, I'll admit I laughed myself silly! And it is totally offensive, so i am very careful about recommendations :P Though my dad read it and laughed too.
all the parts about heading east & discovering himself were excellent explorations, despite being crude & rude at the level of Jay & Silent Bob. (If you don't know them either... maybe skip this thread)
Its a laugh-out-loud and disturb the neighbours kind of book.

This is a tome to stir the living dead ... and yet some will deny it as they do not like evolution ... change! Now those that are deep in the dirt below the tree of life ... did they notice life outpaced them?
Biff is loaded with old mythical signs ... if you don't understand them ... draw a void! Can that possibly be funny to those outside the wall of institution which contains those that cannot grow with knowledge and wisdom ... the Egyptian Nut? Isn't that a storm in a shuol!
We did it in a Book Group ... some were ribald and some were enraged by its mysteries ... so if God is a mystery ... does their reaction say something about their souls?
Has anyone read Atwood's Payback ... the infinite debt or is that in depths?
