A great video, lb...thanks for posting it. If people had to follow the path their words take and watch them manifest into violence, I think words would be given greater respect. Peace is a darn good one to start with...
LBM, do me a favour and send me the instructions to copy and send this message to my friends. Much appreciated.
And another thing, Where are the lyrics available to the music - couldn't understand them. Help me out will you - anybody ---Thanks

Hi Peter:
I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day
I heard the bells on Christmas Day
Their old familiar carol play
And mild and sweet, the words repeat,
Of peace on earth, goodwill to men.
I thought how as the day had come,
The belfries of all Christendom
Had rolled along, th' unbroken song
Of peace on earth, goodwill to men.
And in despair I bowed my head:
"There is no peace on earth," I said,
"For hate is strong, and mocks the song
Of peace on earth, goodwill to men."
Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
"God is not dead, nor does He sleep;
The wrong shall fail, the right prevail,
With peace on earth, goodwill to men."
'Til ringing, singing on its way,
The world revolved from night to day,
A voice, a chime, a chant sublime,
Of peace on earth, goodwill to men!
We (our choir) practiced and sang this hymn a year ago, but I don't know who wrote it, or set it to music. I think the song in the video does not quite match the hymn, but contains variations on the theme, plus the hymn.
Panentheist, Arminus provided you the link above just cut and paste it in an email to your friends and thank you for sharing it with others.
The words of the hymn is a poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and was written on Christmas day during the Civil War just after hearing his son had been wounded. It is a lament for peace and sadly that is what makes it so timeless.
The lyrics Casting Crowns use are slightly different from the original poem making the song a little more universal....
I heard the bells on Christmas day
Their old familiar carols play
And mild and sweet their songs repeat
Of peace on earth good will to men
And the bells are ringing
Like a choir they're singing
In my heart I hear them
Peace on earth, good will to men
And in despair I bowed my head
There is no peace on earth I said
For hate is strong and mocks the song
Of peace on earth good will to men
But the bells are ringing
Like a choir singing
Does anybody hear them?
Peace on earth, good will to men
Then rang the bells more loud and deep
God is not dead, nor doth He sleep
The wrong shall fail, the right prevail
With peace on earth, good will to men
Then ringing singing on its way
The world revolved from night to day
A voice, a chime, a chant sublime
Of peace on earth, good will to men
And the bells they're ringing
Like a choir they're singing
And with our hearts we'll hear them
Peace on earth, good will to men
Do you hear the bells they're ringing?
The life the angels singing
Open up your heart and hear them
Peace on earth, good will to men
Peace on earth, Peace on earth
Peace on earth, Good will to men
