Could you just tell us, in your own words, what he has to say?  I don't have time to listen to this.

Hi kaythecurler    your quote   Could you just tell us, in your own words, what he has to say?  I don't have time to listen to this.

No really it is long and involved ---read Revelations 11 ---I can tell you it is all about the events that are going to happen before the 7th Trumpet sounds -----  I am involved in a Bible Study and this is the scripture we are doing this week -----

I posted it cause he is a young fellow and he impressed me with his eagerness to even attempt to present this ---he uses scripture to answer a lot of what  this chapter talks about  ---in other words the Bible answers itself  -------

Here is a for instance -----it talks about the measuring of the Temple ---The 2 witnesses and what these 2 witnesses are instructed to do ---and who are these 2 witnesses who God gives such Power to -----what events take place  etc ---

Many Christians  are saying that the Temple has to be rebuilt before anything happens--But is the temple a building or is it spiritual ---the Temple in Jerusalem is what many believe will be rebuilt ----but is that what the scripture is meaning is the question ---so I was researching this when I came across this video ----is all ----I found him to be quite interesting being so young to be able to discuss a Book like Revelations ---

Peace

oh my gosh - good one Chansen!

The trumpets are announcing a series of plagues - a take off on the Exodus plagues in Egypt.  It's actually too bad that literalists have hijacked the Book of Revelation - its filled with imagery and symbols- written by someone called John who had an awesome dream like spiritual experience - never meant to be taken literally - in my opinion.

The book of Revelations goes well with times of anxiety produced by political instability. There are many "definitive" interpretations found along the historical path. The passing of time has contradicted the vast majority of these.

This line, from chapter 13 of the book,  provoked me to curiosity some years back and continues to interest me:

"Without the mark of the name of the Beast or the number of its name, it was impossible to buy or sell anything."

We each entered a "password" to "participate" in this "conversation". We each use a "password" to manage many of our "necessary" transactions. There are fewer and fewer "interactions" which can be "engaged" without our "password". "Password" protocols are becoming more and more elaborate. This to serve "integrity", so that our "virtual" experience will not be "compromised".

The "evolution" of the "machine" has been "exponential". It grows by "quantum leaps". Noting this we may expect the "development" of a "micro component", which could be inserted in our "forehead" ("just face the scanner to pay for your burger, sir"), or the palm of our "hand" ("just pass the palm of your hand over the scanner to pay for your pantyhose, madam"), by which we will gain "secure" entrance to the "potentials" of the "machine".

I have lot of words in quotes. I do this to make clear that my sentences are playful and speculative, not to be taken as indicating any commitment to the ideas expressed.

In truth, though, not even biblical literalists take the Book of Revelation "literally." It's impossible to take the Book of Revelation "literally." Of all the books of the Bible, Revelation demands interpretation. Virtually everything in the Book of Revelation is symbolic. So there's a repeated need to question and struggle with the vision. What is the beast? What is the harlot? What or who do the seven churches represent? Who are the witnesses? Etc., etc. Unsafe's title for the thread is unfortunately (or optimistically?) bold. This young man isn't "explaining" Revelation 11 - he's offering his interpretation of Revelation 11. The problem is that literalists don't take the Book of Revelation literally; they take their interpretation (or someone else's interpretation that they happen to like) of the Book of Revelation literally, and deny and sometimes declare heretical any other possible interpretation. To me, that takes away the vision's power.
