Science -- Arminius -- Drat, EH? (Any one else?)

A leading story in the latest issue of Scientific American:

Is the Universe Leaking Energy?
Total energy must be conserved. Every student of physics learns this fundamental law. The trouble is, it does not apply to the universe as a whole

I just had to pass this  along, being a malevilent , person.

Anyone else read this?  Something that changes a basic scientific fundimental dicta,

and seemingly impinges on someone's Prime Statement, (mentioning no names,{Arminious} I thought I'd being it to your attention.

If nothing else, it gives a Cosmic Moment:

Help! The Universe is leaking! (That, is a LARGE picture)

(Self test: If there are fewer than four replies, I'll know better)

It's just when really big things are discovered, that don't hurt anyone and won't affect anyone  for the next zillion years...probably won't be of interest to thyose who doubt that they will live forever...but---

---I thinki I have found my purpose in life: to relax  otherweise burdened minds, burdened with profound, intelligent, influential thought. Strange territory. Influence? Me? Even my YAWNS arn't catching :-)

I can't expect the universe's leaking being a cause for immediate alarm or forboding...

...but take THAT, entrophy-denyers!

----note the time. (sigh) I/think/there/4 am

Happy Genius

LOL......I think you forgot to include the link?  I found it but I didn't wish to subscribe so I wasn't able to read the whole article. In any case I probably wouldn't understand it. Our friend Arminius will be dropping by to set the record straight. I don't know if he's in church this a.m. He said he was on sabbatical .

Hi stardust:

I think the universe is not expanding, although the radiation we receive from the "receeding" galaxies indicates that it does.

I think the universe is finite and filled with energy: bubbles within bubbles within bubbles, seemingly ad infinitum, but not quite. The "Big Rip" (the opposite of "Big Bang") ripped the galactic bubbles into the cosmic bubble continuum by ripping the energy within each galactic bubble toward its core.

Thus, the energy within each galaxy is being ripped toward the galactic core at the speed of light, but slowing down as it gets closer to the core, hence the redshift. Each galaxy is shifting at the same rate and has, like our galaxy, arrived at its core and is swirling around its core. But, because the intergalactic distances are so immense, the radiation that reaches us from other galaxies still indicates that each galaxy is racing toward its core.

Each galaxy is moving away from every other galaxy while also moving toward every other galaxy, but only the radiation that indicates that the other galaxies are moving away from us reaches us, so we mistakenly assume that the universe is expanding.

I saw all that in my vision, but I'm not a scientist and only know how to put it in laymen's terms, which may seem primitive or childish to a scientist. Anyway, that's how I explain it to myself.

Yes, stardust, I'm on a sabbatical from my church. My wife and I burned ourselves out with over-volunteering, and my wife had a mental breakdown and is now in mental hospital. I'm just getting ready to vist her. It breaks my heart to see here there and in that condition. But, under the circumstances, she seems to be better off there.

I talked myself ragged at home, but couldn't help her. Some Messiah, eh?

If the universe was leaking how can it expand? What I could believe is that energy is leaking INTO the universe, but not out.

That would change our definition of the universe as an isolated system into a closed system which allows the exchange of (dark) energy but not matter.

Wow, Arminius,

That's a handful of life.  I hope that your wife is going to be o.k..

She might be  interested in the find of  the remains of a entire herd of hundreds of  pre Triceratops dinasaurs near Drumhellar.  It proves definitively that the dinasaurs on the bad lands were drowned by Tsunamis and flooding of the broad coastal plains which made up Alberta/Saskatchewan.

SO COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope you guys are o.k.

Is it difficult to get a Ka Mael into the Holy Realm of Sole ... unity? Some interpretation required!

Would a Mir Mortal take on such chores? Most are not interested according to one script!

Those that are interested in "science" (observation in old tongues) will look about for answers provided and not be stonewalled by institutional crap ... unthinking dung beadles? They will not be oppressed as blind peoples! yet there are many blind judges that carry on without a spark ...

There is an old story of red shifts but nothing about blue shifts ... UV .. or M'N rushing into to dilute thinking space with emotions. Such stirs up the whole pool and Doctor Hawking fought the answer to the enigma for years ... an isolated Black Hole does not radiate until at equilibrium with the surroundings. Is IT a metaphor for the mind, like the pits in space? Perhaps if we recognized the loot required for a sole thing would be easy to care if we did embue the perception of psyche with fear and guilt .. then we would appreciate the radiation of the Shadow ... Hawkins Radiation? Its dark stuff ... one should learn from such dirt, earth, or fall out of heir spaces ... bigger than mortals eh! Earth? Hebrews called it firm word or choqah ... some find ID in a shocking state when they become aware ... but still wounldn't care about it ... Bo shei philosophy! Bo is a word of Hebrew on chaos ... a real stir of the real mind on Pyre ... unseen light ... invisible to man as wee dark blots in a vanilla Skye? That's the wor-dae! Nun stops to think about it in imaginary terms ... pure wealth of Anon sense ... the emotive to carry on ... in a mystery to be resolved in the phaer end! Sometimes you can even feel the chaos under neath clearer space of a winter's night as the solar wind leaks by. Did you know that some astrophysical sorts even believe we live withina large Black Hole and odd heat sink eh ... one that cannot learn the E shared with it en Maas .... and Maas is an old word for the river of the mind, potential to work with or just kin'etic as it Runes?

The truly isolated and open sole ... er ... resonates with a Phi Loft word! Few understand or even want tu ... AB'D in space ... whorled? The upper powers ... OZ giggles at the prospects to swallow up ... IT takes time some are heavey chewing, ruminating, rheum in eight 'n end ... infinite?

Heh,

Does the old script say we must understand the tongues of all people (m'n) to get a wee grasp of the whole fabric? Is there any interest in such a chore (Job)? It makes the stranger ones daemons to those that don't wish to know ... dark humour eh ... bet' Noire?

Is the whole physical side like this ... pure satyr on those who choose to be stoop'd under the load ... and IT was stated that the children of God didn't wish to know God!

How're we goan to label that one? Theo! Space to store a great deal of intellect that falls all about us .. myth (beyond) in physical terms then there's that odd thing we call sol'entidy ... integrail space? The net energy of the universe may well be zero.  In that case, it is unsurprising to find the positive-energy part to be "leaking" energy.  The negative-energy part probably is, too.  On the whole, energy would be conserved by this.

Hi jae:

I once read that the ancient Aramaic word for "rope" and the Hebraic word for "camel" were identical. The translators made a mistake, and the passage should actually read "Sooner will a rope go through the eye of a needle than a rich man to heaven."

Azdgari's picture

^^ It's one of those translation errors that doesn't actually change the meaning of the passage, but does increase its entertainment-value.

Wasn't it a camel through the rich guy's rope? (The 'rope' being a synonym for 'swimming pool')? And 'Camel" can mean 'Dickhead' in French (or cigarette.)

Just a clarification, once again... there are no absolutes in science. New observations giving new information will always open the door to revisiting physical laws and theories. One fundamental facet of the scientific method is that things (laws, theories, etc.) are always falsifiable.

The advatange of the scientific method is that it has always proven itself to give explanations that are closer to the truth than any other approach. This proof is derived from its power to make predictions that are more and more accurate.

In other words, there are always needle eyes larger enough... or camels small enough!

Language is like that too ... it alters and morphes through the ages to prove a point ... Dore thy sole ... threshold experience, Oz-eM ... dagon in one expression! Isn't that a monster to get your mind about ... string theory expanded ... all inna word ... a loupe of logic ... Janus, or j'nous ... I-mind?

Now according to rules of accrudeness, does one gather all the alien thoughts and ruminate ... chew them over well? We were told in the good book to understand the tongues of all men ... yet some think that English is Christ's tongue! Does anyone know that English is a mongrel of Heintz 57 ... Mani dialects? The Jews of old hated dogs in their space, courts etc. Then King James said that Hebrew was a devilish tongue ... the route of pure satyr if they all begin to speak to you (at once, pure chaos of word, min du).

Now consider what I've related to before that someone said that people who talk to God are holy and people God talks to are crazy ... weigh that one out if God is "word" is this a Roman Idealism to keep common folk stoop-ID? Can you read into a Roman Ur'n for Piscine ... fishing in salt space ... is this wise ... Urinite ... night waters? IT is just  Nascient thought eh ... Theo ... nothing to begin with!

Recall there are no hard and fast rules ... only that love 'n th'aught overule ... and th'Eire both amorphus in subliminal space ... the mortal can't touch eM ... God's para dime ... din Eire currency? It's sort of like water ... higher form ... shamayim ... the heaven that a mortal cannot control once it bites the-M ... gets yah right bith'art! Did anyone read Biff, like bith'd when the tongues curl in opposing directions ... BUSS Principle ... KISS'd by th' in finite! Is that ob-tues? Look up the meaning sof "ob" in Webster ... one must know a lot of word to come to a spark of determinacy ... illogical? Role ID around in your Maw! IT's just a symbol, a metaphor for something much deeper ... Aenaeid? Its just a story ... mortals are not allowed to tell truth by emulating Roman Gods ... hysterical thing-heh!

Did you know that emule in old English is: To strive, to excell, to rival; to equal [related to emulate]---William Toone's Etymological Dictionary of Obsolete Words, 1832.

Courtesy of Jeffrey Kacirk's Forgotten English ... a light hearted perspective of the origins of our tongues (attached to a nut case ... dark at that!

But in the end who would wish to know? Except if you knew that Kosmoe Krater would say on the other side ... meis un what did you see out there? That's the pits of the mind as ceded in an isolated creature ... the human experiment? I don't know but it seems to fit all the patterns I've observed in the pool! Did you know that At/d'm is reciprocal of 1/1015 empty space and what is left is mostly indeterminate ... like electa and protoneic mater ... mother produced vibes of string theory. Some is roped in and the GUI on the string thinks it's his ... but the trap is reciprocal ... heis stuck with what heh's gutte ... dead unless he can awaken it and stele away ... one has to let go ovid sometime ... wasn't ours to begin with! It does cause some stir in the neighbourhood of the infinite though ...

"Can you imagine what those daemons have dunne now ... mucked up the whole thing ..." just plugged with dirt, info they can't process ... they haven't gone far enough in the observational stage ... science with care!

But Spockis, a non believer doesn't believe anything until they see it, a believer doesn't see "IT" until they believe.

Has anyone read "American Theocracy" by Kevin Phillips?  The more that I read it, the more I fear our underfunding of the public education system.   In BC, at the moment, the government is successfully using the temporary deficit to finish off it's mandate to  make public education the second class system.

Why do we have such an interest in private  education run by various religious groups?  Really, what is the goal here, except to blind people to their responsibility to the community?  By establishing a psuedo-logical for the belief in an elite ( trickle down of knowledge theory) system of religious schools and evangelism that is "at odds" with the "corrupt" secular system, we have developed self-righteous bigots in the religious schools and people who really do believe that they come 2nd in the public schools.

Science has always been the easy-out place where we can imagine we are free from prejudice but it is always with us.  example:  what nut thought of doing the wooly mother vs. the iron mother monkey experiments?  what kind of a psychotic system even would think up an iron mother ( eg. answer, why the English, of course!) .  Science is another manipulable tool in the palette of politics.  I'm not saying it's not a good idea, it's just that it's a known in the PR world and just as vulnerable to manipulation as religion.

Water Bouy... a nice image of cork drifting at rest along troubled seas; a solvent presence on the face of chaos.

A wee tale I heard from Tom King, who suggested I tell it here, there; everywhere and anywhere:

A Cree kitchen somewhere in the neighbourhood of Lower Fort Garry. Grandmother is by the hearth, preparing grandson's favourite dish; a thick red stew. Grandson sitting on three legged stool soaking in the ancient teaching.

Father comes in with an Ojibwe girl of about 6 years.

Wandered too far while picking plump saskatoons. Father found her. Brought her to Grandmother, who would know what to do. Grandmother waves her hands, saying sit down on that stool by the edge of my hearth. Sharing her wise warmth. Welcoming an honoured guest.

Grandson is surprised when Grandmother gives first bowl of his favourite stew to an outsider. He always gets the first bowl. Its a tradition in Grandmother's house. He is reminded that the Ojibwe girl is an guest in Grandmother's house.

The stew is much enjoyed by all.

Father lights and puffs his piple. Silent chant and sacred smoke drift into the space.

Grandmother invites the Ojibwe girl tell a story. An offering of gratitude. The girls makes clear she cannot speak Cree. Grandmother is not wanting to hear a Cree story. She has heard them told and sung from her prenatal season. Grandmother wants to hear an Ojibwe story.

The little girl begins to tell her people's story; which she has heard from her prenatal season.

Grandmother settles back to listen.

A few phrases along Grandmother says :

"Ah! A creation story! My favourite kind!"

Thank You Yoma,

I like Tom King, and other native writers that, write stories of creation that many modern thoughts do not comprehend. Through Black Spruce (the shadow there-of) is one ... that the instituted do not relate (alchemy?) with ET ... the upright tree in the midst of the storm! It bends but doesn't fail when associatted with the rest of the forest ... that Bo-ish in Hebrew ... chaos of fire storm ... wilderness like the soul that should be cultivated ... not destroyed! From virtually unknown words in the bible is: "Do not cut down the trees in a conquered land!" Some have great difficulty with that translation.

Then my origins go back to Nordic lands and traditions ... Reindeire people ... Laplanders ... completeing the circle? Do we have to travel to know alien traditions? How many know the similarities of Hebrew, Celtic and Western Aboriginal Tongues? Perhaps they just can't relate to such tales ...

I don't consider mystelf a Master in any but a Jack of all ... just a wee bit of all tongues ... and one is blessed with that KISS Principle of Light ... cognizance?

I also liked I Heard the Owl Call My Name ... wisdom calling? The wisdom is "d'ath" in Hebrew ... IT'll change our whole perspective they say ... those that have crossed that fragile line ...

Blessings ...

WaterBuoy, the problem with your language has nothing to do with the qualities of English, or its history, or the merits of your preferred language itself.  It has to do with the fact that your audience consists primarily of native speakers of English.  Your efforts to diverge from the language spoken by your audience show that communication with that audience is not an important goal to you.

And if communicating the content of your posts to your audience isn't even important to you, then why should it be important to your audience?
